About Chalet Charmar...

Skiers looking to spend as much time as possible on the slopes will find that 4 star property Chalet Charmar is their perfect choice - it’s just 150m from the La Ruade pistes!

Sleeping 12 people in six bedrooms (with a maximum of 8 adults), there is plenty of room for two or three families or perhaps a group of friends to enjoy this beautiful area. This mid-terrace property with fabulous views over the Beauregard plateau and Etale is right next door to another popular OVO Network property, Chalet La Frasse - booking the two properties together could be a great option for groups of up to 24 people.

Situated just 3km from the busy town of La Clusaz, the property is on a quiet road, which is regularly cleared of snow in the winter. However, the altitude (1300m) means you will need snow chains on your car. There are two deep garages, with space to park a further two cars.

In the summer you can walk down the piste into La Clusaz, although the return journey would be a bit of a challenge, unless you take the lift!

There is 1 covered garage and 2 parking spaces at the property.

Larger groups of up to 24 can book this chalet with the neighbouring chalet, Chalet La Frasse, which sleeps up to 12, so that you are all in the same area.

The property ...

The owner of Chalet Charmar, a Paris hotelier, has used his experience in the hospitality business to make sure this beautiful property has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Brushed wood, neutral colours and quality furnishings and bed linen have been used to great effect , making it a comfortable and practical choice for guests.

The accommodation is set over four floors. Enter on the lower ground floor, where you will find a double bedroom with great views, a bathroom as well as the laundry and ski room.

The main living area is on the next floor up. There is a lovely open-plan kitchen and dining area, which opens on to the rear terrace, and a spacious living room with sofas and the television at one end, and more seating around a wood-burning stove at the other. This room also has fantastic views and a balcony at the front.

There are three double bedrooms on the next floor, one of which is en suite, as well as a family bathroom and separate toilet.

Families with young children will love the top floor - an open plan space separated into three sleeping areas - one with a double bed, another with a single bed, and a delightful children’s area with three cosy beds, a play area and a treasure chest full of soft toys!

About the area ...

Nestled between Le Cret du Merle, Etale and Beauregard, guests at Chalet Charmar are just 150m away from some great skiing.

La Ruade piste, a blue run that descends into La Clusaz, is just 150m away, and at the end of the day, competent skiers can ski through the trees straight to the back door, whilst less confident skiers can return to their starting point and walk the 150 m back to the chalet. Just minutes from the La Clusaz telecabine, and with the ski bus stopping 500m away, you have access to 220km of pistes and 95 lifts, all covered by the Aravis ski pass.

Chalet Charmar overlooks the Beauregard plateau, which is a great choice for cross-country skiers, and there’s lots to do for non-skiers too. There’s an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, or you could try sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you'd prefer something a little more relaxing, let your cares float away in the village’s heated outdoor pool and spa - a great choice in the summer or winter.

In the summer, guests at Chalet Charmar are in the perfect place to enjoy all the summer sports the Aravis mountains have to offer. Hike into the Col des Aravis, or let the nearby telecabine ferry you and your bike to the top of the mountain, so you can come back down at your own pace.

Other activities available in the area include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding. The mountains around La Clusaz are criss-crossed with bike tracks and hiking paths, so take a picnic of some delicious local cheese and meats and make a day of it.

If you just want to relax, you can soak up the sun from the balcony or the terrace at Chalet Charmar while you admire the fabulous view of Beauregard.

Later, you can make the most of the long summer evenings at a local restaurant, or enjoy a barbecue on your terrace.

This 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom terraced chalet for 12 (max. 8 adults), is set over 4 floors, over 160m2 of floor space.

With a very cute triple bedded dormitory plus play space for children, and a double bedroom with single bed and tv sharing the loft space beneath the eaves, the property overlooks Beauregard and Etale on the road up to the Cret du Merle in La Clusaz. It is also the next door neighbour to an already popular OVO Network property - Chalet La Frasse - which also has a capacity of 12, so for larger groups (up to 24) wanting to holiday with lots of friends, why not book both properties together? To make life even easier, both properties are looked after by the often praised StellaH Management Team, so organising extra activities/ babysitters/ chefs who will come and cook in the properties if you don't fancy venturing down to town, massages, breakfast deliveries etc is much simpler to organise.

The main living space has two lounges, with one area snuggled around the log burner and the other facing the opposite way to enjoy the views out of the picture postcard windows (and a TV), plus the kitchen, the dining room and a wc. With a south facing balcony and a terrace to the garden to the north of the property, there are very different views to be had from this floor alone!

This property will be ideal for families with kids, or for groups of friends. In good snow conditions access to the piste is within 150m, it's often possible to ski back via the woods above the chalet and arrive in the back garden.

Complete beginners may need to initially be driven to the ski school meeting point at the begiining of a week long holiday, they might be able to get there unde their own steam by the end of the week, from the chalet! For those who prefer to be that little bit more remote from a busy resort like La Clusaz Chalet Charmar has a lot to offer.

We hope you have an unforgettable holiday in this cosy resort in the heart of the Alps...

“We have spent our holidays in La Clusaz for many years, summer and winter. But it wasn’t until 20215 that we were able to buy this wonderful chalet.

Since then, we have totally renovated it, using the skills and experience of local craftsmen to make it warm and cosy.

We have used old wood throughout the chalet, and much of the furniture has many childhood memories for us. The elevated position means we have amazing views of the Beauregard plateau and the ski station, whose welcoming residents host lots of festivals and winter activities.

Try Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In the summer, there’s mountain biking, via ferrata, hiking …

“Ski-in ski-out with stunning views”

Great chalet, very well equipped with beautiful decoration. The views are amazing. You need to be a good skier to access ski-in ski-out, and walk about 5 minutes down the road to access the piste if there isn't enough snow. Cyril, the chalet manager, was very helpful. La Clusaz is a great resort and we really enjoyed our stay.

“Great chalet, great service”

Chalet Charmar is a picture book chalet with excellent views and facilities. The standard of accommodation and equipment is very high. The people we met in La Clusaz were extremely friendly. A great chalet, but a long walk from town, so my advice would be to bring a car. Also a word for Cyril, the chalet manager: he is a lovely, hardworking chap and did his best to help us, so thank you Cyril. Also many thanks to Charles at Passion Altitude - what a star and genuinely one of the nicest people we've met in a long time. His kindness in driving to the chalet to pick up and collect our injured skier was definitely an example of going the extra mile.

“Just magical!”

We had a fantastic holiday with family and friends in this chalet. The skiers really loved being so close to the pistes and being able to ski back to the chalet, and of course everyone enjoyed the evenings around the fire and waking up to the view over the Beauregard massif. “A fantastic holiday”

We spent a fantastic holiday in this chalet, which has been very well refurbished, very well decorated and very well equipped.The view of the Beauregard plateau is stunning.The ground floor terrace his spacious, and the terrace on the upper floor is very sunny. The bedrooms are spacious, well equipped and very well insulated. There is great sledging behind the chalet. The manager welcomed us warmly; he was very attentive and responsive to our requests (e.g. clearing the snow or adding a cot and a high chair).Please note: The distance from the chalet to the resort means you have to use a car (3km) when your kids are not yet skiing on their own.
