About Chalet Charmar...
Skiers looking to spend as much time as possible on the slopes will find that 4 star property Chalet Charmar is their perfect choice - it’s just 150m from the La Ruade pistes!
Sleeping 12 people in six bedrooms, there is plenty of room for two or three families or perhaps a group of friends to enjoy this beautiful area. This mid-terrace property boasts fabulous views over the Beauregard plateau and Etale.
Situated just 3km from the busy town of La Clusaz, the property is on a quiet road, which is regularly cleared of snow in the winter. However, the altitude (1300m) means you will need snow chains on your car. There are two deep garages, with space to park a further two cars.
In the summer you can walk down the piste into La Clusaz, although the return journey would be a bit of a challenge, unless you take the lift! The village boasts a modern watersports centre providing activities for all ages and a wellbeing area. The nearby Lake Annecy is another great place for swimming, paddleboarding, and sailing.
Larger groups of up to 24 can book this chalet with the neighbouring chalet, Chalet La Frasse, which sleeps up to 12, so that you are all in the same area.

The owner of Chalet Charmar, a Paris hotelier, has used his experience in the hospitality business to make sure this beautiful property has everything you need for a perfect holiday. Brushed wood, neutral colours and quality furnishings and bed linen have been used to great effect , making it a comfortable and practical choice for guests.
The accommodation is set over four floors. Enter on the lower ground floor, where you will find a double bedroom with great views, a bathroom as well as the laundry and ski room.
The main living area is on the next floor up. There is a lovely open-plan kitchen and dining area, which opens on to the rear terrace, and a spacious living room with sofas and the television at one end, and more seating around a wood-burning stove at the other. This room also has fantastic views and a balcony at the front.
There are three double bedrooms on the next floor, one of which is en suite, as well as a family bathroom and separate toilet.
Families with young children will love the top floor - an open plan space separated into three sleeping areas - one with a double bed, another with a single bed, and a delightful children’s area with three cosy beds, a play area and a treasure chest full of soft toys!

La Clusaz is an authentic mountain village which blends tradition with up-to-date facilities. Its traditional chalets and lively streets offer a vibrant setting with Savoyard charm. Nestled in the heart of the Aravis massif, it is only 30 min from Annecy and close to Le Grand-Bornand and Manigod. Its warm atmosphere and easy accessibility make it a popular destination year-round.
In winter, the resort provides easy access to the Aravis ski area, offering 210km of pistes that combine long descents and technical sectors across La Clusaz, Le Grand-Bornand, Manigod, and Saint-Jean-de-Sixt. The region also offers a variety of winter activities, including cross-country skiing, dog sledding, sledging, snow biking, ice diving and ice skating.
During the rest of the year, numerous hiking and biking trails lead to superb views over the Aravis, such as the Plateau des Glières. Beautiful and very comfortable chalet which is very well equipped. The children loved it as much as us adults. The chalet Charmar was immaculate upon our arrival and we loved every minute of our stay, it was even better in real life than in the pictures, we were thrilled.

PLEASE NOTE: The chalet has a garage and two outdoor parking spaces (garage 11 and 12). In garage 11, you can park one car under cover and park another one behind it, with the rear protruding outside. A third car can be parked in front of garage 12.
FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, it's strictly forbidden to ride sledges down the field at the back of the property.
IMPORTANT: if you decide to book Chalet Charmar together with Chalet La Frasse or Chalet Zamaro next door, please be aware that none of the property's dining table can accomodate more than the capacity of each rental.
The owner requires a €1,000 damage and excess cleaning guarantee to be set up before arrival. No funds are taken or blocked on your card. Your card details are securely held for up to 14 days after departure. If no charge is required, they will be deleted.

The OVO Network Review
This 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom terraced chalet for 12, is set over 4 floors, over 160m2 of floor space. With a very cute triple bedded dormitory plus play space for children, and a double bedroom with single bed and tv sharing the loft space beneath the eaves, the property overlooks Beauregard and Etale on the road up to the Cret du Merle in La Clusaz.
It is also the next door neighbour to an already popular OVO Network property - Chalet La Frasse - which also has a capacity of 12, so for larger groups (up to 24) wanting to holiday with lots of friends, why not book both properties together? To make life even easier, both properties are looked after by the often praised StellaH Management Team, so organising extra activities/ babysitters/ chefs who will come and cook in the properties if you don't fancy venturing down to town, massages, breakfast deliveries etc is much simpler to organise.
The main living space has two lounges, with one area snuggled around the log burner and the other facing the opposite way to enjoy the views out of the picture postcard windows (and a TV), plus the kitchen, the dining room and a wc. With a south facing balcony and a terrace to the garden to the north of the property, there are very different views to be had from this floor alone!
This property will be ideal for families with kids, or for groups of friends. In good snow conditions access to the piste is within 150m, it's often possible to ski back via the woods above the chalet and arrive in the back garden.
Complete beginners may need to initially be driven to the ski school meeting point at the begiining of a week long holiday, they might be able to get there unde their own steam by the end of the week, from the chalet! For those who prefer to be that little bit more remote from a busy resort like La Clusaz Chalet Charmar has a lot to offer.

“We have spent our holidays in La Clusaz for many years, summer and winter. But it wasn’t until 20215 that we were able to buy this wonderful chalet.
Since then, we have totally renovated it, using the skills and experience of local craftsmen to make it warm and cosy.
We have used old wood throughout the chalet, and much of the furniture has many childhood memories for us. The elevated position means we have amazing views of the Beauregard plateau and the ski station, whose welcoming residents host lots of festivals and winter activities.
Try Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. In the summer, there’s mountain biking, via ferrata, hiking …
